Reading a post from this guy here about SEO Jobs in London got me thinking about the whole online PR thing generally.
If you write a blog post these days then someone somewhere will pick it up and have a view. |It’s a little like throwing a pebble or a rock into a pond. The more weight you have the bigger the splash and the longer the ripples will ebb outwards.
Looking at that post of Robs you’ll see that he twittered it too the beauty of twitter is that it’s also picked up and used by a 1001 different platforms who use the twitter API, so he’ll get a little digital pr traction there too.
What’s particularly interesting is that already on Google (the post isnt so old) that post is currently at #25 in google uk. It’ll be interesting to see if it gets any higher mind.
I guess what the point of this short but sweet story on Digital PR is trying to say is that unless you get people talking about you, unless you get someone somewhere linking to you and citing what you say, then you’ll be like the guy at the party who sits in the corner staring into the fray looking very weird whilst he’s at it. After a period of time, no one will even notice you are there, when you silently make your exit no one will bat an eye lid either.
